Since 2018 Bliss Mindfulness and Claire’s Pilates have brought together a one day ‘Rest and Renew Retreat’ at The Wellness BarnThe goal of our retreats are to bring relaxation and tools on how to relax the body and mind to everyone.

Stress is a major factor in our lives and unfortunately most of us have lost the skill to be able to switch off and rest. We all need some time to slow down, appreciate the moment and connect back to the body. Claire and I enjoy running the retreats that take on a day of gentle movement, with mindfulness and meditation.

Each retreat is a mini sanctuary to reduce stress and tension and find some space for yourself. Hosted in beautiful rural Essex, surrounded by fields and green space, just perfect to feel like you’ve got away from it all, the Wellness Barn is a lovely holistic venue that is just perfect to host these retreats.

At the retreat, Claire’s Pilates will guide you through wonderful exercise to align the body, reduce stress and strengthen muscles to help you feel so good. We have very little time in the day to take care of our bodies and Claire shows us how, with some simple steps to bring Pilates into our day.

I have the pleasure of bringing a mindfulness session to help anyone understand the basics of living a mindful life and to guide you through different meditations to fully unwind. Many of us struggle with the constant chatter in the mind and find it difficult to find peace when we are very busy juggling different roles and work. 

In the retreat we have wellbeing activities, where we make relaxing essential oil sprays, essential oil de-stress rollers, calming vision boards and beauty treats. These are perfect to take away with you at the end of the retreat, as a little gift to continue feeling relaxed and calm.

We want to maintain health and wellbeing and therefore Claire and I choose healthy food options for lunch, where we can sit and get to know each other. All food allergies and needs are catered for and we are happy for anyone to adapt our food choices to suit them. With an afternoon break where we enjoy a tea and cake session to satisfy any sweet tooth with fruit also included.
