About me
Hi, my name is Vicki Hornsby and I’ve been practising mindfulness for over 7 years due to my own mental health problems which have stemmed from my childhood. I’ve suffered with anxiety, panic attacks, depression and post-natal depression and I have tried many different things to help me with these conditions. I have found mindfulness extremely beneficial in how I feel and finding some peace. Since starting a mindfulness practice it was important for me to have some daily rituals where I completed meditation, mindful practices of tasks and movement through the day.
I completed a Mindfulness diploma in 2015 and since then have been delivering classes throughout Essex. Being a mindfulness and wellbeing practitioner I have been in schools helping teachers learn key mindfulness skills, delivered mindfulness workshops in corporate companies in Essex and London and have delivered mindfulness talks to university students in Essex to help them through their studies.
Recently I joined up with a dear friend Claire Lester (Claire’s Pilates) to host beautiful retreats in rural venues to help us all discover the power of gentleness in movement through Pilates with Claire and mindfulness and meditation. Together these are our Rest & Renew Retreats, which we hope to have back up and running in the near future and will have more details on this site soon.
My work with mindfulness is to help everyone bring mindfulness to life and have their own practice to start to live more in the present rather than in the mind.
To support my work with wellbeing I decided to complete some training. In 2019 I completed a course in Australian Bush Flower Essences, all to help deepen my knowledge of emotional health and pass on an important mode of healing for any condition we suffer from like anxiety, depression or stress that affects how we function and our wellbeing on a daily basis. Since then I have completed more training and I am now an Advanced Practitioner that specialises in women’s health. This covers things like infertility, hormones, relationships and chronic conditions like breast cancer. I hope to bring these essences to my community to support everyone’s overall health and wellbeing.
I have been privileged to work with my clients privately to work more directly with conditions that cause suffering and despair. I am very grateful to be part of their healing journey and sharing my knowledge and experience can bring much relief and peace to someone who is struggling.
